During the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur we spend extra time looking inward. It is a time of reflection and introspection. During the times of our forefathers in Israel the Cohen HaGadol (High Priest) would cautiously examine his life, his heart, in all ways. His self-examination was truly a life or death thing. He was going to enter into the Most Holy Place. He was going to stand before the Ark and apply the blood for the Kipporah (covering). This was the most important time each year for the Cohen HaGadol. If his soul was not clean before G-D he would lose his life. Every year the atonement for the people of Israel was dependant upon this one man's commitment to G-D. However, you and I know and realize that our High Priest Yeshua fulfilled this role perfectly, applying the blood of sacrifice to the altar in Heaven. We no longer have to depend on the faithfulness of a human being for our atonement. We know that our G-D robed Himself in flesh and offered Himself as an offering for our sins. Because He did this once and for all, those who believe in Him have their sins covered and can stand clean before G-D. If you have never accepted the Messiahship of Yeshua it is our hope and prayer that during this season of Teshuva (repentance) you will call upon Him and be assured of your name being inscribed in the Book of Life.
