This week's Parsha is called Miketz which in Hebrew means “after” or “at the end of”. I was considering this word and how significant it is to us as followers of Yeshua. So many things happen in the Scriptures following a period of time in which the Children of G-D had to wait for the event to come to pass. The most well-known event the Jewish people waited for was the coming of Messiah. This event was prophesied from the beginning of the book of Beresheet (Genesis), but as the Scriptures say in Galatians 4:4 “but when the appointed time arrived, God sent forth his Son. He was born from a woman, .....” The Birth of Yeshua was a long time coming; people had longed for Messiah to come for thousands of years. In our lives as believers there are many times in which we have to wait for things to come to pass. But when we read the Word of G-D we find we are in very good company. Abraham and Sarah waited for a child. Noah waited for the rain to start and then waited again for it to stop. Moshe waited to lead Israel out of Egypt. Simeon waited at the Temple to see Messiah. It should not be a surprise that we have to wait on the fulfillment of G-D’s will in our lives. What we need to do is pray and stay strong, leaning on our history to know G-D is faithful and then when our personal “after” comes share the good news with all of those around us so they will be encouraged as they wait for their “after”
