"And he called"
Leviticus 1:1-5:25; Isaiah 43:21-44:23; Romans 8:1-13
This week's Parsha begins with the words "ADONAI called to Moshe and spoke to him from the tent of meeting." These words seem so simple and many times we read over them fast as we get to what we think is the meat of the text; however, this week I would like us to focus our attention on the first two words of the text. Adonai called. These words should resonate within each of our hearts when we realize that just as Adonai called Moshe He has also called us. He called us to draw near to Him. He called us to be His disciples. He called us to be redeemed. He called us to serve Him. There are so many things we can list that G-D called us to be or do, but among all of the things He has called us to be, the thing that touches my heart most is that He has called us to be His Children

This weeks Parsha is unique in that it is the first time that we find G-D speaking to Moshe from within the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle has now been built they are setting up the sacrificial system. It is establishing the order and method of sacrifices. So we begin in verse one with the words G-D spoke to Moshe from within the Tabernacle. So you ask how does this verse apply to Messianic Judaism and by extension to Messianic believers? Well as we have been discussing in our Faoundations class we are according to scripture the tabernacle of the Ruach HaKodesh. The Ruach or Spirit of G-D dwells within us. If this is true and it is. Then G-D should also speak to us from within the Tabernacle. We should be hearing G-D speaking to us. His voice should be known by His sheep. We do not need to yell holler or scream to get the attention of G-D as the pagans did on Har Karmel (Mount Karmel) Instead we need to listen to the calm voice of G-D speaking to us from within. G-D is not far off from His people he very near to our hearts. Knowing this truth we have only to speak to Him and one who is near who wants to listen to us but even more we should listen to Him as one who is near and wants not to yell at us but to speak to us. Remembering that G-Ds voice will always speak what is consistent with His word. Lets us be still and hear His voice this week.
